If your car warns you when you drift out of a lane or brakes on its own to avoid a collision, those features run on a camera mounted to your windshield. Replace the glass and that camera has to be re-aimed. That’s ADAS calibration, and it’s the step that makes a windshield replacement genuinely safe on a modern vehicle.
A small aim error becomes a big one
ADAS stands for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems: the cameras and sensors behind lane-keeping, adaptive cruise, and automatic braking. They’re aimed with tight tolerances. Move the camera a hair during a windshield replacement and that tiny shift turns into a large error a few hundred feet down the road, right where the system is supposed to react. Calibration resets the aim to the manufacturer’s specification.
Done by the book
Depending on your vehicle, we perform a static calibration with targets, a dynamic calibration on a road drive, or both. We follow the automaker’s procedure, verify the system reads correctly, and pair it with your glass work so it’s one appointment, not two. We serve drivers across Fort Myers, Cape Coral, and Southwest Florida. Reach out for a quote.
